As I am currently doing Online Media Planning for a client, I have come to observe that more and more people are tuning online for answers, entertainment and news. It's so fascinating that I get to be part of it as well! I firmly believe that traditional media will soon phase out and the new media will finally take over. And with social networks such as Friendster, Multiply and Facebook, a country such as the Philippines won't find the transition that difficult! This is where we media planners come in.
With the world as your audience, messages are easily put across and distributed via strategic media placements. A Media Planner should have the drive and passion to be up-to-date. Speaking of that, have I mentioned I have 4 social network accounts right now?
What can I possibly do with 4 accounts you ask? I don't know myself. But one thing is for sure. It beats being ahead in this technology driven world. Needed or not, it should be tried. My emails are numerous, while my Blogs range from SEO, to work, to dogs! This is the curse of the new media. There will always be something out there that needs experimentation. Media planning is a skill that involves technical expertise, online marketing know-how, tough negotiation flair and down-right street smarts! In such a competitive industry, strategic media planning is the way to go to stretch your advertising budget.
